Live a Tahitian vacation with a culinary and cultural experience !
You will visit the local market called “ Le Marche de Papeete” where most Tahitian buy their fresh fish, fruits and vegetables. On the 2nd floor of the market , you can purchase some souvenirs of local arts and crafts such as black pearl pendants or wood artifacts. Then you will be transferred to the local gastronomy restaurant LE COCO’s. The restaurant is decorated in a Polynesian style and located ideally by the beach. The group will have a private food demonstration by the chef and served a 3 course gourmet menu lunch.
In the morning , you will discover in 4×4 the interior of the island of Moorea with its volcano crater , incredible lush vegetation and incredible views. You will visit some pineapple plantations and the agricultural high school of Moorea with its vanilla , bananas and grapefruit plantations. You will then visit an ancient Polynesian archaeological site called a Marae, before arriving to the beautiful Belvedere view of the Opunohu bay and Cooks’ bay .
Lunch will be served at the local restaurant by the beach with an air of yacht club called the MOOREA BEACH CAFE . It is locally owned by a French chef and serving some French dishes with some Tahitian saveurs.
During the afternoon, you will learn the artistic and cultural life of Moorea with a private tour of a local art gallery with meeting of a local artist followed by a demonstration of Pareo painting .
You will circle the island of Bora Bora visiting the Vaitape village , some World War 2 canons and bunkers left by the GIs and some panoramic views of the turquoise lagoon.
Lunch will be served at the famous BLOODY MARY’S with its white sand floor and Polynesian décor.
In the afternoon, get your mask and tuba for a snorkeling adventure in the blue turquoise lagoon of Bora Bora and swim in the middle of colorful tropical fishes.
You will then dine at the MAI KAI or St JAMES, 2 renowned local restaurant awarded the certificate of excellence 2014. They both offer various dishes with French and Tahitian saveurs. The restaurants are ideally located by the lagoon of Bora Bora.
You will visit some vanilla plantations like “ La Vallee de la Vanille” where you will learn about why the Tahitian vanilla is also called the Tahitian Black gold and can purchase some vanilla powder, vanilla beans or the local oil called “Huile de Tamanu”
You will dine in a local restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Tahaa lagoon.
In the morning, you will head to the west coast of the island of Tahiti for the preparation of the Tahitian oven and feast called the “ Maa Tahiti “ . You will assist in the underground oven preparation of the various fruits, vegetables, chicken, pork . While it is cooking, you will visit the “ Jardin de Vaipahi” where you will discover the various medicinal plants and cooking fruits and vegetable. Under some coconut and palm trees , you will enjoy “ The Maa Tahiti “ and all the Tahitian dishes while listening and watching some Tahitian songs and dances .
In the afternoon, you will visit the Musee de Tahiti et ses iles and the Museum of the Pearl.
